Bayside Inn

For the price, it was amazing. Room was clean, service was fantastic. Only issues were that our room was pretty small so it was hard to walk around each other, the door didn’t seem very safe (not many locks) so we put the chair in front of it, the toilet was very close to the wall where your legs hit the wall while you are sitting, and the shower was extremely small. There is no longer a breakfast provided but there was an amazing diner down the street. But for it being one of the cheapest motels in Monterey, it was definitely worth the stay.

The Manager "Jack" was exceptionally kind, great customer service, and was very friendly. I saw him go out the extra mile with customers. The rooms are ALWAYS clean. The property is small but very tidy as you would see Jack making sure everything including parking lot had no trash. The maids were very friendly and did the job well. I like the rooms old fashion style with key locks instead of plastic cards. I have stayed in every different size room available , all were great. Access to the freeway right there and the PRICE is right. I am sad to mention that during my last stay with prepaid reservations another employee question my registered service pets. I always put a deposit down provided service dog cards and never a problem when I stayed there NUMEROUS times, Another office staff pretty much kicked us out. Explanation that was given from what I understood the policy changed,? It was questionable and felt unfair due to laws with service animals, but money refunded and we had to leave. It really made me very sad. I liked staying there. My dogs are well trained & I always cleaned up when they went potty. So check first about the pet policy before booking. Other than that it's a great place to stay.

We picked this place because it was one of the cheapest and everything in this tourist area is overpriced. We were pleasantly surprised. It is in a good location only 7-10 mins from the wharf and the Aquarium and many food options nearby. The rooms were clean and bigger than expected. Another benefit was free parking spot right in front of your room where most "nicer" places charge extra fees or you have to use valet and pay. There was plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids, even space for a pack n play for the little one to sleep in. The room also had a mini fridge and microwave which is helpful traveling with kids and when on a budget.

The inn is kept very clean, with super colorful and beautiful flowers. The inn keepers were very friendly. My room was not ready at check-in time, but it didn’t bother me at all. The room was clean, air conditioning worked great, the lighting was a little dim, but thats how I like them, anyways. The shower pressure sucked, but the water was HOT and stayed hot. For the price and the location, you can’t go wrong. Parking is a little tight! I stayed for 4 nights and I had to park in the street one of those nights because I got to my room pretty late. Wasn’t s huge ordeal because parking is readily available and the area felt safe. Comfortable stay, at a great price. Antonia is very friendly and always greets with a smile. 10/10 would return.

no, these rooms are not brand new by any means. however, the attention to the smaller things make a difference. complimentary waters and granola bars, a small space heater to use if needed, and the nook area in the 2 queen room adds just enough extra space. the front desk was extremely friendly. i called the day before to confirm since i used a third part site, and the owner himself ensured everything was taken care of. we were part of a 5 family group, spread across 6 rooms and couldn't be happier with our stay. if we ever come back to the area, this is where we will stay.

I stayed at the Bayside Inn this Saturday and not only was the check in super easy, the gentleman at the counter was nice and accommodating. The room was very clean, smelled nice and I felt safe. The air conditioning worked really well! The price point was really good! I will definitely book here again!! If you are in the area, book your room here!!

Check-in was smooth and fast. Person that received me was very friendly and accommodating.. Soap and shampoo provided, but I really wish there was toothpaste too! I'm a traveler that flew in so I didn't bring toothpaste and assumed it would be included in toiletries. There is a CVS very close by though. Towels and the bedding seemed clean. There's a built in heater, closet, hot shower w tub. Location is harder to get to than I thought. I didn't rent a car and depended on walking/public transit. The bus system is quite bad-- many busses come once an hour and I often had to walk 15min or more. This is not the Inn's fault obviously, but my experience would have been much better if I had a car. The inn is about a 5min drive from waterfront and 10min drive from centers. I was anxious about previous reviews that reflected noise complaints, but that depends a lot on the neighbors you end up with. I had no noise issues at all-- it seems like people tend to stay quiet in the evenings. Commute aside, great experience! Stay was quiet and comfortable. Wifi supported my zoom meetings, and some decent restaurants nearby. Would recommend.
